What motivates you, Strengths or Weaknesses ?

From as early as you can remember, perhaps you were constantly reminded of all the things you did badly – “You embarrassed me in front of the teacher”; and the things you shouldn’t do: “Don’t speak like that!” and the character attacks: “You’re so stupid!”

You got 5 straight “A”s in your report card, but a “C” in Math, what did your parents focus on? The “C” in Math.

Fast track to your first job and your performance review said your communications skills were above average, but your leadership was lacking. So what did you beat yourself up about? Your lack of leadership.

All through your development years into your early careers, most of the time, your parents, teachers, your coaches and bosses obsessed over your failures and your weaknesses, thinking they were helping you change for the better. When in reality, if they had praised you for your strengths and talents, you would have had a much easier time getting better at what you were already good at, and it would have happened so much more quickly.

Have you ever been told “You’re being too emotional”;  or the opposite of that: “You don’t have an emotional bone in your body?”

Reality is: You are an emotional being.  You experience a vast array of emotions all day long. Your emotions impact your thinking, your brain, your body, your health, your relationships, your creativity, your productivity – in fact all your experiences are influenced by how you are feeling at any given time.

When you experience negative emotions, you are more closed to possibilities and other people as you are shut down to protect yourself from fear or anxiety and exclude others.

When you experience positive emotions, you are more open to possibilities and other people as you are receptive to new data coming in because you feel safer and inclusive of others

Learning about the science of emotions and particularly how you can rewire your brain for the better is truly life changing. You will identify your own positive core.  You will learn to build your positivity ratio on a daily basis.  You will find that tiny changes in your daily habits will compound and make a huge difference in how you live your life and interact with others, and how you see the world.

Course Sections

This process is delivered through the Life Possibilities Manual and the course lectures/videos.
The lectures support the 6 course sections:

1. Orientation

This section helps you understand the full Life Possibilities Process, its steps, forms and activities. You will be introduced to the Life Possibilities Manual.

2. Perception – Know Yourself

This module introduces how to know yourself through 6 instructor-facilitated activities (gather information. You will be guided how to complete the activities, then allowed to complete them on your own. What you learn from the activities will be recorded in your Life Possibilities Manual.

3. Perception – Know Your World

This module introduces how to expand what you know of your world through 2 instructor-facilitated activities (gather information). You will be guided how to complete the activities, then allowed to complete them on your own. What you learn from the activities will be recorded in your Life Possibilities Manual.

4. Creating Possibilities

This section introduces a new way to build and edit meaningful possibilities to ensure you always know how to move through work and life. You will be guided through the possibilities creation process then given time to build and edit your own possibilities.

5. Building a Performance Plan

This section introduces a 6-step performance plan to help you build a successful way to implement the possibilities you choose from the Possibilities section. You will be guided in how to complete a performance plan then given time to create your own plan for your selected possibilities.

6. BONUS – Building a Personal Branding Statement

This section offers a bonus lecture on how to use the information gathered in section 2 – Know Yourself – to create a personal branding statement, branding slogan and branding identity. This is critical to know in today’s world as it helps you clearly, professionally and efficiently share your greatest abilities in work, college or networking environments.
